Among dust removal equipment, cartridge filters and bag filters are two of the most common types. So, what are the differences between cartridge filters and bag filters?

1. Filtration Principles of Cartridge and Bag Dust Collectors

Cartridge filters rely on the fine pores on the surface of the filter media to purify dust, preventing it from penetrating deeply into the filter media. In contrast, during operation, bag filters force dust into the filter media, where it builds a dust layer on the surface of the bag to filter the dust.

2. Performance Differences Between Cartridge and Bag Dust Collectors

1. Different Filter Materials: Bag filters often use materials such as polyester, aramid, and polypropylene; cartridge filters often use materials such as polyester and nanofiber.

2. Efficiency Difference: The filter material used in bag filters is a cloth bag, which is made of soft filter media. Filtration efficiency is primarily determined by the filter bag itself, which typically has a pore size of 5-10mm, with pores as small as 1mm. Cartridge filters use a filter element, which is a cylindrical folded arrangement of filter media. The pore size is typically 1-5mm, with pores as small as 0.1mm.

3. Volume Difference: Given the same filtration area, the filtration area of a single-sized bag and cartridge filter differs significantly. A bag filter assembly is twice as large in length, width, and height as a cartridge filter assembly.
